The BRHireD Program is opening doors for people in the Baton Rouge area to get trained, certified, and employed as medical assistants—no experience needed to begin!

BRHireD is open to unemployed and employed individuals who would like to advance their career by becoming a Certified Medical Assistant and are committed to two semesters of education and training with Baton Rouge Community College or River Parishes Community College. In addition to completing a two-semester training program, ideal candidates are willing to work on-site in healthcare settings, perform both administrative and clinical tasks, and take pride in caring for and helping others.
 

The Spring 2026 BRHireD Scholarship application is now open, and you are invited to submit your full application. The application will remain open until December 19, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.

As you prepare to submit your application, please be sure to have the following documents ready to provide and upload:

• Proof of FAFSA application completion
• Proof of acceptance to Baton Rouge Community College or River Parishes Community College
• Accuplacer exam scores - Reading, Writing, and Math

These items must be submitted along with your application to be considered for the scholarship. You can find more specific information about the required items within the application itself.
