Baton Rouge Health District Boosts Team with New Hire

BATON ROUGE, La. – Today, the Baton Rouge Health District announced a new hire. Alexis B. Foster, MHA, will manage the Health District organizational operations with a focus on (grant) program coordination, communications, engagement and outreach


In her new role, Alexis will focus on leading and implementing communication and awareness tactics for the Baton Rouge Health District; facilitating optimal program operations through partner and client stakeholder engagement; as well as managing and coordinating deliverables across program tracks and projects.


With many years of experience in program/ project management she will ensure execution and adherence to performance goals and assure standards are being met. Alexis will manage Health District operations through organization leadership in areas particularly aligned with program goals, especially communications and outreach.


Alexis Foster completed her Master’s in Health Administration at Louisiana State University-Shreveport in 2018 and attained her Bachelor’s from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University.

Most recently, she was a Program Manager for the Louisiana Department of Health in the State Office of Rural Health, where she provided direct technical assistance and support to rural and underserved areas in Louisiana. Additionally, she assisted with the expansion and sustainability of the rural health safety net across Louisiana and has successfully facilitated information sharing from the federal government to rural providers and communities.

She will bring a wealth of expertise and a well-rounded perspective, and will be instrumental in advancing the ambitious Health District vision for Baton Rouge as a high-performing destination for healthcare at the heart of a healthy and vibrant community.”


Recognizing the significant impact health issues have on the Baton Rouge community, the Health District collaborates with hospital administrators, government agencies, community leaders and medical staff on various projects, from establishing best practices, to combating the opioid epidemic and establishing  a crisis stabilization center in Baton Rouge.

The Baton Rouge Health District is seeking an agency or vendor to perform the post approval project/grant administration services and construction management services for a newly awarded federal construction project through the Economic Development Administration. R.E.A.C.H. (Regional Economic Acceleration through Coordinated Health Infrastructure) Gateway Infrastructure Enhancement Project is a $3.4 million federal construction grant aimed at infrastructure upgrades in the Health District such as improved signage, intersection enhancements, and monument gateways. To achieve the objectives of this project, BRHD is seeking a firm or vendor with experience in federal construction grants and compliance to manage the project/grant administration services for R.E.A.C.H . The firm or company will be competitively procured and selected in accordance with the procurement standards set forth in 2 CFR Part 200, and according to the EDA publication "Summary of Construction Standards". Additional characteristics include: Familiar with federal compliance, standards, limitations Knowledgeable in Economic Development Administration requirements and practices Competent in federal procurement practices Experienced in federal reports, project management and construction management Must be collaborative in nature.
